Three years ago, Director Alan Berg (producer / filmmaker of Outside Industry: The Story of SXSW) and the Arts+Labor crew had their faces melted by The Jones Family Singers at SXSW. Berg and staff were instantly hooked by the band’s charismatic performance and the unwavering character of the family. For Berg, this began a labor of love project, spending years documenting the band as they spread their message and music to a larger audience.
The Jones Family Singers’ new album The Spirit Speaks has received critical praise from the likes of Rolling Stone Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, NPR and Noisey.
