Eddie Rouse 1954 – 2014

Our friend, the very talented actor Eddie Rouse passed away yesterday. We had the distinct pleasure of working with Eddie on Todd Rohal’s short . Todd shared this on Facebook:

“We lost a truly original performer and friend yesterday.

Had David Gordon Green not run into Eddie Rouse in a North Carolina bowling alley, I never would have had the pleasure of working with an actor who could make me laugh with one line and then make me feel like I got punched in the gut with the next line. He was an (un)naturally gifted guy who taught me what a true actor-director collaboration is capable of achieving. We had many more films planned to create together, but I am so grateful for what we made over the past few years. I’m going to miss the surprises that he conjured up on the fly and I’ll always regret not being able to create more with a man who possessed such a deep well of complicated emotion and bizarre ideas. You were a wonderfully gifted, crazy and one-of-a-kind human being, Eddie Rouse… and I miss you already.”

Zack Carlson (producer Rat Pack Rat):

“Hey, Eddie Rouse. It’s only been a little over a year since Todd Rohal introduced us, but in that time, we had adventures in multiple states, you taught me new swear words, and you pushed me into a snow bank. Though you called me “dumb-ass” more than my actual name, you were always a massively entertaining hurricane of talent, laughter and chaos; a real-life slapstick comedy show. There was just one small you, at war with the entire world, and in my opinion, you won. Rest in peace, Eddie.”
