Executive Producers Mark and Jay Duplass continue their winning ways, this time landing a seven-film deal with The Orchard. The new deal gives the indie distributor worldwide theatrical rights, including digital rental and sales, cable and satellite VOD, and DVD and soundtrack for seven upcoming films produced by the Duplass Brothers as part of the exclusive SVOD Netflix deal announced back in January.
Among the titles included in this deal is Arts+Labor co-production 6 Years, directed by Hannah Fidell (A Teacher) that premiered at this year’s SXSW festival. The film starring Taissa Farmiga and Ben Rosenfield was acquired by Netflix. Additional titles of the deal include Sundance horror film Creep (released today on iTunes), The Overnight, Manson Family Vacation, and four unnamed films produced by Mel Eslyn for Duplass Brothers Productions.
This new venture also comes on the heels of the Duplass Brothers signing a two year deal with HBO.
